Red Brangus Cattle through rigorous natural selection, combine the hardiness, disease resistance and unmatched maternal instincts of the Brahmin, with the superior carcass quality, fertility, maternal and milking ability of the Angus.
Red Brangus are moderate size with mature Females weighing in the range of 1,100 pounds, and mature Bulls in the 2,000 pound range. Their beautiful red color is not only attractive, but functional, as it eliminates pink eye and sunburned udders, as well as allowing the cattle to forage under extreme heat conditions. The natural polling of the Red Brangus eliminates the danger of horns and the chore of dehorning.
Females exhibit early puberty, with Heifers ready to breed, and Bulls ready for light service, at about the 14 month mark. Additionally, both Females and Bulls retain their productivity longer than average, with Females still producing at 14-15 years old, and Bulls in service at 10 years old.
Calves typically exhibit low birth weight, averaging 70-75 pounds, but yielding a high weaning weight. Calves continue to gain efficiently in the feedlot, yielding the choice carcass characteristics that the consumer desires; great marbling, high tenderness, consistent flavor.
The Red Brangus Breed would be an attractive addition to any Herd.
